It was as if someone flipped a switch and it was October again. Remember? Tom Coughlin looked like the Coach of the Year, Tiki Barber the league MVP, Kurt Warner the Comeback Player of the Year and Eli Manning just a highly paid kid in a baseball cap.

Call it garbage time if you will, but when Warner led what had been a spectacularly inept Giants offense on two late, long drives against the Ravens yesterday, one for a touchdown, it was impossible not to recall what the 2004 Giants once were and marvel at the mess they have become.
