Pierce puts aside need for revenge
For Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce, this week's game against the Redskins is more about restoration than revenge; restoration of a confidence shaken by a 1-2 start; restoration of an intimidating defense that hasn't been seen since late last year; restoration of expectations the Giants would be a Super Bowl contender.
Revenge was a personal thing last October when Pierce played the Redskins for the first time. The middle linebacker felt Washington, which signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2001, showed disrespect by allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent after posting a career-high 160 tackles in his first starting role in 2004.
