Running game too important for no-huddle
Jeremy Shockey's postgame rant a week ago made headlines for the part in which he said his team was outcoached. Buried a little later in that session was Shockey's assessment that the Giants' offense runs better in the no-huddle mode, when Eli Manning has more freedom to call what he wants.Judging by the results the past two weeks when the Giants were in their two-minute mode - the 17-point rally in Philadelphia, the 27 fourth-quarter points in Seattle - one might be inclined to think Manning would like it, too. Not true.
Manning, like his coaches, knows where the Giants' strength lies on offense. Tom Coughlin knows where his team's strength lies, too, and his assistants reinforced that thinking when they spoke with reporters this past week for the only time all season. Continue
