LaVar Arrington listened to a tape of defensive coordinator Tim Lewis being questioned on Tuesday about how the Giants' newest linebacker was being used. Then Arrington sat at his locker the next day, addressing the same questions over and over again.

At some point during it all, it dawned on Arrington that he just can't win. He was criticized in Washington for being a "free-lancer," supposedly unable to play within a defensive scheme.
