The question sounded valid enough. Did anyone, be it Tom Coughlin or an acknowledged team leader, need to rally the spirits of the Giants a day after they failed their first-place test and fell by the division wayside as the Cowboys gained command position in the NFC East? The answer sounded definitive enough. "Rally?" wondered right tackle Kareem McKenzie. "Why? There's no need for a pep talk, ladies and gentlemen."
With that, the Giants en mass opted to turn the page on a 31-20 loss that, according to the pregame hype, was either a day of reckoning for Eli Manning or the precursor to an avalanche-like swoon down the stretch of the season. There's no doubt the Giants (6-3) no longer have a realistic shot at the division title after getting swept by the Cowboys (8-1) but, judging from everything seen and heard yesterday in the Giants locker room, there's also little doubt the Giants don't believe they've lost much of anything.
