Steve Smith glad Tom Coughlin pushed him, might be active for Giants Sunday

Steve Smith's rookie season long ago had been ruined by the time Tom Coughlin approached him last week. Smith was about to miss his 10th straight game due to injuries, so Coughlin figured it was time to give him a push. "Definitely I needed that push," the rookie receiver said Friday. "Maybe I could've been getting a little lackadaisical just hanging around and not having to practice much.
