Giants beat hated Cowboys, 21-17
Tony Romo can go wherever he wants with Jessica Simpson now. Eli Manning and the New York Giants knocked him and the Dallas Cowboys into the offseason Sunday.Having to wait out long, slow drives by Dallas, Manning made his few chances count, throwing two touchdown passes to Amani Toomer and getting a 1-yard touchdown run from Brandon Jacobs for a 21-17 victory that put New York into the NFC championship game for the first time since the 2000 season.
Cornerback R.W. McQuarters intercepted a pass into the end zone with 9 seconds left, ending the Cowboys' final drive and marking Romo's second straight last-minute goof to cost Dallas a playoff game. His flubbed hold of a short field goal in Seattle ended the Cowboys' season last year. Continue
Coughlin needs to realize that this team has potential to beat the big teams, the only thing keeping them back is the offensive play calling. How about we play to win for a change instead of playing not to lose. You play the whole game to get into the last 3 minutes with a lead against a good football team and instead of going for the knockout, you play it too damn conservative and give the ball back to the other team with time on the clock. 3 and out...great call. You cannot beat the remaining teams with that attitude...get agressive for a change, put the game in your own hands. Also, it's not a crime to pass to open up the run game either. Please, please, take a look at how teams like the packers and patriots win. They take what's available, they adapt, they don't get the lead and sit on the ball, they keep scoring to control their fate. Enough of the nonsense, coach up to your team's potential...please.
