It was the same thing last season at almost every practice, during that long stretch when Corey Webster was buried on the depth chart. His job, back then, was to work on the scout team, mimicking the opposing defense. But he was still pestering Sam Madison to keep an eye on his technique. "When we were in practice, even though he was on the scout team he was like, 'Sam, watch my technique, watch my footwork, watch my hands,'" Madison recalled Sunday. "He always came ready to practice. He didn't really shy away from the rest of us because we were playing and being successful. He still asked questions."
It's why Madison wasn't as shocked as most people were when Webster had his out-of-the-blue interception and touchdown during the Giants' Week 16 playoff-clinching win in Buffalo. That ignited a remarkable playoff run by Webster, whose overtime interception set up the winning field goal in the NFC Championship Game. Continue
