David Carr hoping to stay on with Giants as Eli Manning's No. 2
There were 25 seconds left in the first half and David Carr wasn't expecting to play until sometime in the fourth quarter. That's when the unexpected happened. Then again, the unexpected is exactly what a backup quarterback is supposed to expect.
"It's a pretty good test if you want to see what's going to happen," said Carr, who was thrust into the Giants' 37-34 preseason win over the Browns Monday night when Anthony Wright sprained his back with two plays left in the second quarter. "That's how it happens when guys go down. You've got to get ready, warm up fast and don't screw it up when you first get in there. That's what I tried to do." Continue
