Even playing a half, Phillips has great debut

Rookie safety Kenny Phillips appeared to have a terrific debut. He had a team-high eight tackles, six of them solos, stopped an end-around for a 6-yard loss and, to the naked eye, seemed to do everything right. Sometimes the coaches' tapes tell a different story.
