The outcome was virtually decided. A season-opening 16-7 Giants victory was a foregone conclusion. Mathias Kiwanuka was about to blow past Redskins tackle Chris Samuels and pursue quarterback Jason Campbell on the game's final play. Samuels, knowing he was about to be beaten, basically tackled Kiwanuka from behind, wrapping his arms around the lower portion of Kiwanuka's body before falling on the back of Kiwanuka's left leg, the same one that he broke last Nov. 18 against the Lions.
Kiwanuka and many of his teammates later called Samuels' actions "dirty," and the third-year pro has been hampered by the left ankle injury inflicted by Samuels' tactics ever since. Continue
