It will take months for Plaxico Burress' legal case to wind through the New York City court system. But the Giants wasted little time in making their decision in the wake of his accidental shooting in a nightclub early Saturday morning: They threw the book at him.
Burress returned to the Giants one last time yesterday, to have his injured leg examined by a team doctor and to speak one more time to team owners John Mara and Steve Tisch, general manager Jerry Reese and coach Tom Coughlin. They all expressed thanks that he was not seriously injured when his own gun went off at the trendy Latin Quarter nightclub. And then they all told him goodbye. Continue
