Resting Eli Manning & many others, Giants lose to Vikings on late field goal

It could have been heartbreaking for the Giants to lose the way they did Sunday. Watching the game-winning field goal sail through the uprights as time expired just a few minutes after a missed field goal of their own could have been a devastating blow.

Instead, it was nothing but a bump in a road the Giants still hope will lead to bigger and better things. They know there are far more important things than a 20-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in a meaningless regular-season finale

"I'm pretty sure we came out healthy," said linebacker Antonio Pierce. "We got out of here and we're excited to go on to the next round.
