Just hours after one of the Giants' greatest leaders of the past delivered an impassioned speech aimed at lifting the team's spirits, the Giants found out that one of their most important leaders of the present will be out of the lineup indefinitely.
Michael Strahan, the future Hall of Fame defensive end who was a major contributor to the Giants' 2007 Super Bowl season, visited the team Friday and was asked by Tom Coughlin to say a few words to boost the players' spirits. A terrific moment, by all accounts.
But later in the day, the shocking news of Antonio Pierce's injury situation rocked the locker room. Pierce, the unquestioned leader of the defense, is out indefinitely with a bulging disc in his neck. Continue
Special teams are just horrible. Nevermind the Tynes miss - but you cannot keep letting the other team return the ball 30 or so yards - can we get a touchback every now and then - if Tynes does not have the strong leg -they we need better special teams coverage.
